Bob Katz (“You never know what he’ll do next”) — known for his genre-bending shows, raucous lyrics, and love of a certain tropical fruit — surprises again with his new self-produced alt-hip-hop album CAUGHT IN A BUTT SANDWICH, complete with his new identity: THE MANGFATHER BOB KATZ. Released in September 2016, the album made the list of AJ.MP3’s Top Albums of 2016 at A.J. Radio on The WIRE (wire.wit.edu Wentworth Internet Radio + Entertainment). Video for the title track of CAUGHT IN A BUTT SANDWICH has already become a viral sensation and made The Best Video list (New Lahore Videos), and the album is already being featured and played on major radio stations all over the world including BCB 106.6FM, WFCS, WPKN, WESU, WFMU, WMPG, WNCM, WPCR, WCDB, WRHO, WTUL (Top New Album), KALX, KJAG RADIO, KUNM, REDMP3, THE SOCC (Song of the Day), Celtica Radio, Songshooter.com (Song of the Day), Vancouver Co-op Radio, and WIRE, and getting great reviews on music magazines such as OrcaSound, The Modern Folk Music of America, and Makin’ It Magazine.
Called “The Folk Punk Woody Allen," Bob introduced a startling new voice with his award-winning debut album When Good Mangos Go Bad. Since then, he's created and produced an extended run of the one-man Off-Broadway musical theater show Quasimango, the Lunchbox of Notre Dame at NYC’s Dixon Place and The Theater at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Radio and TV include regular appearances on The Real Radio Show and Finnish National Television MTV3. Bob is Artistic Director/Co-Host of Christopher Street Coffee House, a monthly mash-up of song, spoken word, hip-hop, and free-form whatever with guests ranging from Dar Williams to Tim Fite.
