BIO

Bursting out of the pandemic lockdown comes SIX CANS OF OLIVES, the new hip-hop/pop album by the inimitable THE MANGFATHER BOB KATZ. One of The Deli’s 2020 Top 300 Hip-Hop Artists, TMFBK's last album, CAUGHT IN A BUTT SANDWICH, was a viral underground hit with over 100K clicks on Google+, great reviews, extensive worldwide radio play, and global year-end best-of lists including WTUL (Top 30 Album; #6 Hip-Hop Release) and WIRE (#8 on Annual Top Album List).

Mixing moods and genres in the way that only TMFBK can, working alone in his home studio, SIX CANS OF OLIVES offers raw, unvarnished truths that will make you laugh and cry, often at the same time. The title track already made the 2020 LGBT Music Chart Top 50 and Off the Grid was the TOP TRACK on CKWR. TMFBK was recently the Featured Artist Interview on Rhythm & Views, WKNY, and on Rainbow Country, the #2 rated nationally syndicated Canadian radio show. The music is already in regular rotation on radio stations throughout Canada such as CFCR, CFRU, CIUT,CJUM, CKCU-FM, CHMR, CHRW CKHA, CKCU, CKMS, CKUW, CKWR, and Bombshell Radio.

Called “David Sedaris meets Rage Against the Machine", TMFBK introduced a startling new voice with his award-winning debut album WHEN GOOD MANGOS GO BAD, produced by Pete Kennedy (The Kennedys) and released under his former artist name, BOB KATZ. Since then, he's created and produced an extended run of the one-man Off-Broadway musical theater show QUASIMANGO, THE LUNCHBOX OF NOTRE DAME at NYC’s Dixon Place and The Theater at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Radio and TV include regular appearances on The Real Radio Show with members of Twisted Sister and his European debut on Finnish National Television MTV3.  TMFBK was long-time Artistic Director/Co-Host of Christopher Street Coffee House, a monthly mash-up of song, spoken word, hip-hop, and free-form whatever with guests ranging from Dar Williams to Tim Fite.

Rough, quirky, passionate, sometimes hilarious, sometimes brutally grim, he’s a hot and utterly unique new voice.
